Former Positive Changes Member Becomes Marathon Runner!
When Jeff Stahl joined the Positive Changes weight loss program in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he had one goal, and one goal only. His desire was to lose enough weight to qualify for the job of his dreams—to be on the team at Disneyworld. Jeff melted off his unwanted pounds and inches with his Positive Changes program and in 1998 left Virginia Beach for Orlando to make his dream a reality.
On a recent visit to Virginia Beach Jeff stopped in for a hypnosis session and to visit with the staff. He had quite a story to tell. Jeff was living his dream; he had attained a job at Disneyworld and he loved every minute of it. But attaining his dreams didn’t stop there. Jeff said, “The amount of weight that I lost at Positive Changes blew away all the road blocks.”
Jeff has since participated in five marathons, a century (100 mile) bike ride and an Olympic-distance triathlon which included a 100 meter swim, a 10K run and a 40-mile bike ride. “The changes I made at Positive Changes awakened me to the possibility of what I could do once I put my mind to it,” said Jeff with a grin. “I now find that I can stay focused on any goal that I set and I’ll do whatever it takes to get there.”
Jeff says that he still practices self-hypnosis on a regular basis and especially before all his events. “Once I build up that confidence in my mind,” says Jeff, “it’s a done deal.”
Working at Disneyworld proved to be better than he had ever dreamed possible. Jeff works in Mom’s Kitchen, a reenactment of a1950’s diner where he plays the role of “Cousin Jeff,” a fun-loving guy who gets to play with yo-yo’s and make sure that all his guests remember to say “please” and “thank you.” Jeff says that he has great fun playing his role. Yet there is one requirement of his role that he simply can’t bring himself to do. “I never make people clean their plates,” he exclaimed.
From all of us at Positive Changes, congratulations to Jeff on his outstanding success!
