All right, you’ve survived Halloween with its costumes, parties and trick-or-treating. Now you have one more goblin to face—leftover Halloween sweets. Whether it’s the remains from handing out goodies at your door or booty brought home by your own little pirates, Halloween candy is a temptation to many. It seems like a minor indulgence, happening one miniature candy bar at a time. However, the resulting waistline is often a nightmare! So, if you find yourself craving candy corn and caramel apples, here are a few strategies to help you take the fright out of sweets.
- Get rid of Halloween leftovers. Save a few pieces if you must, but dump the rest in the trash. It may seem cruel or wasteful, but your figure will thank you later. To reward yourself, do something you enjoy that doesn’t involve food.
- Substitute other treats. If you have candy and sweets in the house and there’s nothing you can do about it, stock up on some healthy substitutes you know you’ll enjoy eating, such as some delicious fruit.
- Find alternative activities during especially tempting times. For instance, if you tend to dive into the candy bowl while watching TV, try jumping on your rebounder instead. Not only will it take your mind off sweets, but it will also help you drop pounds and tone up.
- Listen to specially designed hypnosis processes. Hypno-Acceleration™ processes like Extinguish Sugar and Chocolate Addiction and How to Have Your Cake and Lose Weight, Too, can help you over your sugar cravings.
Finally, remember that we all slip up from time to time. Do your best, but if you do trip over a piece of self-indulgence, don’t panic. After all, there are no failures—only opportunities to learn and grow.
