Your Summer of Freedom

As we roll into midsummer, many people shrug their shoulders and give up on losing weight. "Summer is half over," they say, "why start now?" Well, the reason to get on track now is this: Summer is actually the best time of year to start a weight loss program. Most people don't realize that 80% of weight gained in a year occurs during the winter. Our tendency to be more sedentary during the colder months is the primary factor in winter weight gain. We get stuck indoors due to inclement weather and food becomes our comfort and companion. Add the holiday parties, stockings full of candy, and huge holiday feasts, and you can see why the average American gains 10 pounds by the end of winter.

Summer, on the other hand, is when we feel energetic and active. The late setting sun allows us to swim, ride bicycles, or go for long walks after work. Additionally, the heat of summer can be a natural appetite suppressant. Lighter foods, salads, and fresh fruits appeal to us when it's hot. Imagine how easily you will coast through the holidays later this year by deciding to focus on developing the characteristics of a naturally thin person this summer.

Becky Miller after photoMy name is Becky Miller.  I live in Kent, WA and I have a housecleaning company.  I was starting to become embarrassed about the way I looked before I called Positive Changes.  I heard about Positive Changes on the TV and radio.  Since coming to Positive Changes, I have lost 65 lbs.  I'm not sure how many inches.  I went from a size 18 to a size 6 which is very exciting.  It basically took me a year; I lost 40 lbs in the first 8 months and then the rest slowly.

I've been overweight my whole life.  I've tried different things to lose weight but they never worked.  I did the Phen-Phen and lost 50 lbs but the minute I stopped, it all came back.  The point counting program never really worked for me.  The hypnosis program at Positive Changes did eliminate the cravings, food binges and poor eating habits.  All of those went away.  In the past, I always craved ice cream or fast food.  I don't ever eat fast food anymore.  I used to like all the junk food; the fattier the better, the sweeter the better.  All that is gone now.
