Motivate Yourself

ARE YOU SHOPPING FOR YOUR NATURALLY THIN BODY, OR YOUR OVERWEIGHT MIND?

By Michael J. Porter, Jr., CHT.

How are you creating your new body?  Are you shopping for your naturally-thin character, or the old, well rehearsed, over-weight character? Are you in an empowering state of mind, such as pride, joy, enthusiasm and passion, or are you limiting yourself by doing what you have rehearsed so many times before, buying the same processed and refined foods?

Fresh ProduceWhen it comes to reaching your ideal weight, creating more energy than you ever imaged and enjoying that wonderful life of optimum health, you might consider shopping twice during your next trip to the local market. Try it just once and find out how easy and quick your trips to the market can be. Wouldn’t you love to be in and out in no time flat!

Step 1 – Shop entirely for your body.

Select only the foods your body needs to get strong, build muscle, burn stored fat and balance your body chemistry. Walk through the grocery store with the information you learned in your Positive Changes Hypno-Health® classes in mind and you will know exactly what food your body needs to return to its ideal weight. You will also know how easy it is to bring these healthy foods into your daily routine.

What’s more, when you add it all up, there are only a handful of ideas that you need to keep in mind!  It’s easy to give your body what it needs to be in balance, and then to be in fat burning mode 24 hours a day, when you follow this simple formula.

1.  Make sure to give your body an adequate supply of high quality protein each day.  Spread out that protein evenly throughout your day. In other words, consume high quality protein with breakfast, with lunch, and certainly with your dinner meal.  Now you’ll be building your body from the inside out, top to bottom and at the same time creating the fat burning response in your body all day and all night long!

2.  Get every bit of energy you can from that protein by balancing it with wholesome complex carbohydrates. Carbohydrates will help your body get the fiber and nutrition it needs. When you choose the carbohydrates low on the glycemic index (those that get broken down into sugar in your bloodstream slowly), you are taking unwanted stress off of your organs and glands, which promotes easier, more effective digestion and assimilation, creating the balance that allows for optimum fat burning! Choose from an array of healthy, flavor-filled choices such as fresh vegetables, whole grains, sprouts, beans, legumes and more!

3.  Round out your balanced meals by adding essential fats to your daily routine.  Do you think that a no-fat diet is the way to lose fat? Please don’t be confused by the food advertisements designed to convince you that by eating their low-fat or no-fat product you will end up looking like the model on the screen. Don’t be one of the 90% of North Americans that are deficient in essential fats! When we examine all the clinical research available today, we know just how important fats are, and how much they contribute to our overall health.  Of course this means the essential fats, not those “manufactured” hydrogenated, saturated, trans-fats that are readily stored in the body but take extreme effort to remove! When you feed your body essential fats from sources like flax and fish oil, you give your body exactly what it needs to stimulate the breakdown and release of fat!

So there you have it—shopping for your body can be as easy as 1,2,3 when you include high quality protein, complex carbohydrates and essential fats.

While you’re at it, don’t forget your daily intake of fiber. Choose 25 to 40 grams from nourishing choices like fresh fruits, beans, legumes, and flax.  When your daily intake of 25–40 grams of fiber is combined with fresh clear water throughout your day you go a long way toward creating optimum health.

Step 2 -With these powerful choices securely in your cart,
take another walk down the grocery store aisles.

Discover just how much is there that has absolutely nothing to do with your body! You will quickly discover that most of what you see is there for your mind. These are the foods that are packaged to make you think, “I wonder what that tastes like?” Some are designed to remind you of the television commercial that appealed only to your appetite (which exists only in your mind).  Make no mistake, if it isn’t already in your cart, its mind food, not body food!

The average person shops with their appetite, with the thought of quick satisfaction and a full belly. Above average people shop for above average health. They know that the food they eat today becomes the body they wear tomorrow. When you follow the easy steps offered above, you automatically become above average. When you are above average in your actions, you receive what above average people deserve—an above average body. Isn’t that what you desire? Make it so!
